Finance Council Meeting
January 27, 2011
MINUTES
Members present were Bob Bilzing, Bob Dettling, Jeanette Bax-Kurtz, David Kniepkamp
and Craig Simoneaux.
Ex-officio member present were Diana Vogt and Yvonne Chester
Minutes

The November 11, 2010 meeting minutes were reviewed. Jeanette Bax-Kurtz motioned
and Bob Bilzing seconded the motion to approve the minutes as submitted. The motion
passed.
Old Business

Diana Vogt performed a review of the Parish Financial Statements and noted any
special area of activity.
The content for the quarterly annual report to the parish was reviewed. Additional
opportunities for presenting financial data will be review at the next Finance Council
meeting.
The milestones for the current Capital Campaign were reviewed. Craig Simoneaux
recommended pledge or donation cards be placed in the pews. Craig will bring an
example of a card to the next Finance Council meeting. To celebrate the halfway point
in the campaign, Jeanette Bax-Kurtz recommended having a “Million Dollar Party”. Bob
Dettling motioned and Bob Bilzing seconded the motion to have Jeanette explore and
develop this opportunity.
The use of online capabilities within our parish website for parishioners to update their
personal parish records with ConnectNow was reviewed. To pay for the set-up and
annual cost, David Kniepkamp recommended and will ask the Men’s Club if they will
contribute the money and be noted as the sponsor on the Parish Website for this activity.
Jeanette Bax-Kurtz motioned and Bob Bilzing seconded the motion for this effort to be
pursued with the Men’s Club and appropriate entities for implementation. The motion
passed.
New Business
Diana Vogt presented for the Jobs Club the request for the Parish to join the Fairview
Heights Chamber of Commerce to help with networking job opportunities with
parishioners. The Finance Council reviewed the request and the consensus was there
was not enough clarity on the benefits of joining with regards to or Parish Ministries and
Mission and would need more information from the Job’s Club on the opportunity.
