Welcome Fr. Anthony

This weekend we officially welcome Fr. Anthony as he begins his priesthood as Associate Pastor here and at St. Stephen, Caseyville. Many may remember when Fr. Anthony was assigned with us over the course of a couple summers and during breaks while continuing his studies at the seminary. It is my hope that he will offer his gifts to us and we, as a community and family of faith, help him to become a good priest.
As best we can, we will attempt to meet the pastoral needs of both parishes. I am asking your patience as we begin to make adjustments. Schedules for liturgies in both parishes will remain the same with regular rotation. As we can, we will attend meetings of parish organizations. As pastor, I feel obliged to be present at meetings of parish leadership councils which fortunately are not in conflict. As the school year be- gins, it is my hope that Fr. Anthony will be willing to be pre- sent on a regular basis. These are just a few areas where adjustments will be most noticeable. I will ask Fr. Anthony to be a regular contributor to the bulletin.
I am asking pastoral and finance council members in each parish to assume more of leadership. The leadership in both parishes demonstrates their concern and commitment to being good stewards of the spiritual and temporal gifts held by each community. I ask that you speak with them, support them, and along with them keep the parish’s vision and mission central to worship, learning stewardship and service.
Again, please be patient as we attempt to find some rhythm to our ministry.
