Traveling to Rome and other things

I hope that you noticed the survey in last week’s bulletin. The current bulletin has become more of a newsletter than a bulletin. The Pastoral Council now has a Commission for Communications which will not only address content and format of the parish’s bulletin other aspects of a still growing community of faith. Please take a moment to complete the survey and return it as directed. Your input is appreciated!
Over the next couple of weeks, it is my hope to introduce current membership of the Parish’s Leadership Councils—Pastoral and Finance—and indicate a few short and long term goals that each is planning. Along with the Leadership Councils, I will also introduce new members recently elected to the Holy Trinity School Board. Stay tuned for these updates…
Recent celebrations of Confirmation and First Holy Communion highlight the special liturgies of the Easter Season. Congratulations to their parents and sponsors, the parish’s cate- chists, and especially Mary Lou Walker who coordinates the parish’s Sacramental Preparation Process. It is my hope to see the Confirmandi take a more active role in parish life, especial- ly serving in those liturgical ministries suited to their ages.
The school year will end soon. There will be many events and celebrations as Holy Trinity students and other parish youth and young adults complete another year of high school and college. We will acknowledge their achievements and celebrate another academic year’s successes.
Lest this become a newsletter article, I close with announcing that I will be out of town from Monday May 23 to Thursday, June 2, while I will travel to Rome. I have asked Fr. Jim to offer the Saturday evening liturgy, May 28th, Fr. Gary to offer the 8am and 10:30am liturgies Sunday morning, and Fr. Clyde to offer the 5pm on Sunday, May 29th.

    Father Ray:

Hope you are having great trip to Rome.

Bobbie and I have missed Saturday liturgy a a number of occasions this spring because the
time of the service has been changed. There are a number of people that feel that the time of the weekend
liturgy should be “sacred.” I understand a need to change things for Christmas, Easter and maybe the Picnic,
    but not anything else.

    Peace,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,JOHN
